Our state-of-the-art, 118,000 square foot manufacturing facility uses over 100 pieces of latest computerized machinery. Helac machinery consists of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) lathes, robotic/automatically loaded CNC lathes, vertical lathes, inverted vertical lathe with integrated pallet changer, CNC vertical mills, CNC horizontal mills, FMS with stacker, CNC centering machines, robotic welders and assorted internal and external straight and helical gear cutting machinery.

Design Engineer

Work Summary

Work with Helac’s products and services by proactively testing, refining our current products, developing and prototyping new applications. Responsible for assigned projects and proposals, including program design, cost, schedule, and testing. Coordinate with testing, engineering, marketing, sales, service and production to complete assigned projects. Provide leadership to designers and other related Helac business functions.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Assume complete responsibility for multiple projects and business initiatives under the guidance of our Engineering Manager and/or the supervising Project Manager for proposals and projects assigned.
  • Will coordinate with the representatives of testing, engineering, marketing, sales, service and production to plan and develop programs.
  • Supervise drafter-designers, junior level engineers, and other engineering staff.
  • Estimate and maintain effective control of project, schedule and product cost.
  • Ensure all analysis for form, fit, and function is complete.
  • Ensure products meet advertised specifications by description of the product, envelope, performance, stress analysis, weight analysis, reliability, materials and other data required to satisfy the specifications.
  • Review and approve complete product drawings, drawing release packages, and drawing revisions.
  • Implement product testing for all new designs.
  • You’ll work with production to assist in establishing and communicating proper assembly and testing procedures.
  • Application Engineering: work with customers and/or sales personnel to determine cost effective solutions for current future customers.
  • Develop and coordinate product improvements and cost savings programs.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Education and Experience BSME with a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with lathe-mill machining, fabrication, and welding.
  • Must possess CAD drafting / 3-D Solid Modeling skills (Autocad 2000, Solid Works 2006 preferred).
  • Knowledge of ANSI & ISO drafting procedures and geometric tolerances.
  • Proficient with statistics, mechanics and materials, stress analysis, Newtonian physics, supporting mathematics including, fractions, decimals, geometry, trigonometry and algebra.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Construction or mining equipment, Hydraulic component and seal design, Castings and forgings, Hydraulic systems, schematics, and basic circuit design.

Relocation assistance is available for this opportunity in the Pacific Northwest. Enumclaw is 45 minutes away from downhill or cross country skiing yet we seldom get snow where we are located. In the summer you are only minutes away from hiking in the mountains, sailing or power boating in Puget Sound, or 2 hours from the salt air of the Pacific Ocean or the desert of Eastern Washington. Regional Attachment Sales Manager

This Regional Attachment Sales position will primarily cover Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Virginia's and North Carolina with overall responsibility for all areas East of the Mississippi.

This position will require extensive travel within this sales region.

CNC Machinist 4308

Work Summary

Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Set up different types of production equipment.
  • Makes setups on all jobs in the cell and blocks through programs.
  • Loads, unloads, deburrs and does all inspection of any run in the cell.
  • Move offsets and perform complex editing on the control.
  • Programs all jobs in the cell.
  • Understanding of tooling, loading, usage, speeds and feeds, etc.
  • Determine when carbide coatings should be used.
  • Select production methods.
  • Determine the sequence of operations, methods of setup and layout.
  • Reduce run times and increase tool life.
  • Actively participates in company-sponsored training programs.
  • Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Completion of a vocational or apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
  • Minimum three years experience as a CNC lathe or mill operator or the equivalent. Ability to demonstrate this knowledge to the supervisor.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; twist or bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee frequently is required to walk, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
